Mark Terranova
Biography
Mark Terranova is the founder of Terranova Advising, which provides support and counsel to leaders of mission-driven organizations to improve their fundraising, revenue, and engagement strategies through better storytelling, messaging, presentations, and events.
Before founding Terranova Advising, Mark led the client engagement team at August Jackson (formerly Feats), a brand engagement and event production agency, helping to orchestrate some of the most important and impactful campaigns in higher education.
He has served as a strategist, lead storyteller, and campaign counsel on over 100 campaign events and key milestone moments for universities such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Dartmouth, NYU, Duke, USC, UC Irvine, and nonprofit institutions such as the Smithsonian, the Collegiate Schools Foundation, the KIPP Charter School Network, and Grant Us Hope. He presents regularly on topics such as storytelling, engagement, and campaigns at conferences with client partners at conferences across the country, including CASE, Academic Impressions, Ivy Plus, and the Association of Donor Relation Professionals.
Mark has been an advisor to the National Academies of Science, the National Science Foundation, and the Corporation for National and Community Service on issues related to education access and closing the achievement gap, and has served as Co-PI on several NSF grants. Mark currently serves as a trustee for the Children’s Scholarship Fund Baltimore.
